PUPILS from a Sutton school have a year of sports contests against each other.

The Intra School Tournament sees key stage two children competing in seven different sports against children from the same academic year.

Teaching assistant Anneli Howes said: “There are eight mixed teams, all named after fabulous trees: pine, ash, willow, redwood, beech, maple, spruce and oak.

“We’re looking for great team work, bundles of passion, good sportsmanship and resilience to always perform at the highest level. Most importantly we want all children to have fun!”

“All the points gained throughout the year will be added together, and overall winners and runners up will be announced at Sports Showcase in July.

“I have a feeling that it will be an extra exciting year in sport in our school and I cannot wait for the next Intra School Tournament which will be hugely popular – hockey.”
