TWO people have been arrested following an incident on Tuesday which left a police officer with a cut on his head which needed hospital treatment.
Police were attending a report of a stolen vehicle in Sutton-in-Craven on Tuesday, November 12, at 10am.
Officers attended and during the incident an officer received injuries to his head.
Two people were arrested – a 19-year-old man from Keighley on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and a 21-year-old man from Keighley on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and theft of a motor vehicle.
Both have been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
The vehicle was recovered shortly afterwards using its tracking device.
Traffic Constable Andrew Ingram, of North Yorkshire Police, tweeted the picture of his Roads Policing Group colleague who managed to get hold of one suspect who "wasn't stopping" but was assaulted in the process.
Skipton based TC Ingram said his colleague was OK.
He said: "Unfortunately emergency services get treated badly at times."
