BBC Radio 2 presenter and first lady of jazz Clare Teal returns to Settle Victoria Hall on Thursday, November 21.

After signing to independent label Candid in 2001 and releasing three acclaimed titles, it was Clare’s first album for Sony Music which became her breakthrough record. Released in 2004, ‘Don’t Talk’ topped the Jazz charts and entered the UK Top 20, garnering extraordinary plaudits and several awards. She has gone on to release eight more successful albums, six on her own MUD Records.

Alongside her own weekly live radio show, Clare performs across the UK, and internationally, with either her pianist, Trio, Mini Big Band or Hollywood Orchestra, celebrating the singers and songwriters of yesteryear and today alongside her own original material.

The multi award winning singer also guests with the Hallé, BBC Concert, BBC Big Band, RTÉ Concert and The John Wilson orchestras.

On Friday, November 22, Victoria Hall plays host to Strawbs Acoustic on its 50th anniversary tour. Now celebrating five decades of music making, the Strawbs started life as the Strawberry Hill Boys before emerging into the mainstream from the exciting British Folk Movement of the mid 60s, alongside other such luminaries as Fairport Convention, Pentangle, Al Stewart and Roy Harper.

The Acoustic Strawbs of the 21st century consist of the founder, and lead vocalist Dave Cousins, longtime band members lead guitarist Dave Lambert and Chas Cronk.

Settle Musical Theatre stages its 140th anniversary show on Saturday, November 23. The former Settle Amateur Operatic Society will join the Courthouse Kids as they celebrate 140 years with a special one-off anniversary show.

Cast members of one of the oldest operatic societies in the country, young and ‘not so young’ will perform in an evening that promises to be a true celebration of all that is musical theatre - with a mix of songs from shows past and present, including numbers from The Merry Widow, Hamilton, Guys and Dolls and much more.

Sunday, November 24, will see Ultimate Legends of the 21st Century - a one man show by performer, musician, singer, dancer, Paul Tayler faithfully bringing to stage the most iconic and successful performers in musical history.
