HELLIFIELD Primary School is asking for volunteers to help staff and pupils plant hundreds of hedging saplings in their quest for a greener future.
The school has been donated 420 saplings from the Woodland Trust Tracey Jones of the Friends of Hellifield Community Primary School said: “We would like to invite anyone, young or older to join us in offsetting their carbon footprint by helping to plant wildlife-friendly hedgerows in our school grounds. Please join us at Hellifield Community Primary School. Kendal Road, Hellifield, on Sunday, December 1, 11.00am-2.00pm For a fun-filled tree planting party. Bacon sandwiches and drinks provided. (vegetarian option available on request.) All welcome no experience needed. Bring your own spade if you have one.”
