SKIPTON’S Narrow Boat pub is celebrating its 10th consecutive entry in CAMRA’S Good Beer Guide.

First opened in 1999, the pub has had18 entries into the Good Beer Guide, having only missed one year due to a manager change taking place during the selection rounds, which meant the pub was unable to enter.

It is a remarkable achievement for a member of the Keighley and Skipton branch district.

In the 18 years the pub has been opened it has seen and gone through a lot of changes. When it first opened, as a member of the Market Town Taverns Estate it was revolutionary as it had a no smoking or live music policy, which was unknown at the time. It was also the only pub in Skipton to offer an ever-changing range of good quality cask ales.

Throughout the years, more pubs have come along offering the same good quality ales, but The Narrow Boat’s reputation has remained strong, as shown with their prolific Good Beer Guide entries.
