NOT a single driver was arrested in Craven as part of North Yorkshire Police’s annual Christmas anti-drink and drugs driving campaign.
Although 100 drivers suspected of being under the influence were arrested across the county between December 9 last year, and January 1, not a single arrest was made in Craven.
Elsewhere, 20 arrests were made in Harrogate and 20 in York, with the highest, in Scarborough at 27.
Craven was the only area were not a single arrest was made over the four week period, although just one person was arrested in Richmond and three in Ryedale.
During the 2017/2018 Christmas and New Year campaign, 137 people were arrested in North Yorkshire, including 14 in Craven.
This year’s campaign saw police conducting roadside checks and acting on intelligence about offenders that was submitted by the public.
There was an increase on the same period last year when 82 were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
