BOOTS pharmacy is to move from Fisher Medical Centre in Skipton to the High Street branch next month.

The pharmacy will be housed within the Boots High Street premises from February 22 and will be open during shop hours, including weekends.

Dr Barnaby Jones, GP partner on behalf of Fisher Medica Centre, Modality Partnership, said it was a disappointing decision by Boots. “We were aware that Boots would be moving to alternative premises in the future but unaware of a definite date.

“Whilst disappointed in their decision to move premises, given their long standing working relationship with us, we would like to reassure and emphasise that this will not alter the delivery of care by our staff at Fisher Medical Centre. There are many ways to ensure patients receive their acute and regular medications that can still take place, especially in this digital age.”

He added: “This situation does offer us an opportunity to look at all options and opportunities to enhance the experience for our patients at Fisher Medical Centre so that we build on ensuring our patients receive high quality care at the right time by the right person.”

A spokesperson for Boots UK said: “At Boots UK, we continually review our store locations to make sure they are where our customers need us most.

“We can confirm that we are looking to consolidate our store at the Fisher Medical Centre into our store on the High Street.

“The move will bring extended hours for our pharmacy services into the high street. All of our affected colleagues have been informed and will be offered jobs within other Boots stores where possible.”
