TRIBUTE act Limehouse Lizzy will be ‘back in town’ at Settle Victoria Hall in February.
Limehouse Lizzy - due to perform on Saturday, February 8 continue to keep the spirit of Celtic rock icon Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive, well and dominating stages worldwide.
The band have also added a tribute into their show to ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist - and world renowned solo artist- Gary Moore.
“If you’re sceptical about tribute acts, you won’t be after seeing Limehouse Lizzy” says the Radio Times.
Also coming up on Tuesday, April 4, is a live screening of Kinky Boots The Musical from the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End.
With songs from Grammy and Tony award winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, book by legendary Broadway playwright Harvey Fierstein and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell, the musical is based on the film written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth.
Inspired by true events, this hit tells the story of two people with nothing in common – or so they think. Charlie (Killian Donnelly) is a factory owner struggling to save his family business, and Lola (Matt Henry) is an entertainer with a wildly exciting idea. With a little compassion and a lot of understanding, the pair learn to embrace their differences and create a line of sturdy stilettos unlike any the world has ever seen.
But in the end, their most sensational achievement is their friendship. This musical theatre event celebrates a joyous story of British grit transforming into a high-heeled hit as it goes from the factory floor of Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan.
RANT Fiddles, four of Scotland’s finest fiddle players, play on Friday February 7. Bethany Reid, Jenna Reid, Lauren MacColl and recent recruit Anna Massie join forces to create a sound which is both ‘rich and lush, yet retaining all the bite and spark synonymous with a Scottish fiddle player. ‘
Since the release of their debut album ‘RANT’ in 2013 which won them critical acclaim, the band has made major festival and concert appearances across the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.
Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer will bring ‘Jazz in the village to the Victoria Hall on Sunday 9 February 9 at Settle Victoria Hall. To find out more about all the performances, visit the website: settlevictoriahall.org.uk, or call the box office on 01729 825718.
