PARCEVALL Hall gardens at Skyreholme, near Appletreewick, are due to open next week for the first of two snowdrop weekends.

The gardens of the Parcevall Hall, a retreat for the Leeds Anglican Diocese, will be open specially for the annual snowdrop display on Saturday, February 22 and on Sunday, February 23; and also on Saturday, February 29 and on Sunday, March 1.

Because the season does not start properly until Monday, March 30, visitors to the snowdrop days are being reminded the cafe will not be open, and admission payment will be via an honesty box at the main entrance.

A spokesman said: “As well as being able to view the snowdrops, if the weather is good, a visit will also present the perfect opportunity to take a pre-season glimpse at the garden, enjoy a stroll around the grounds and along the way, appreciate the spectacular views that Wharfedale has to offer.”

On each day, the grounds will be open from 10am to 4pm, and entry will be £4 for adults, and free for accompanied children up to 12 years old.
