TEENAGE cousins, Finley Croft, a student at Skipton Academy, and Josh Clarkson, of Upper Wharfedale School, started the New Year ‘braving the shave’ for Cancer Research UK.

The 14 year olds raised an impressive £1,244 in sponsorship, which also included the sale of two fat lambs provided by Finley’s dad, Johnny. The lambs were sold at Wharfedale Farmers Auction Mart, Otley, to Brayton Farm Shop in Selby and to auctioneer, Ian Smith. Finley and Josh thanked all those who sponsored them, many from the farming community, and to raise the profile of the charity.

Kathryn Leverett, for Cancer Research UK, said enormous progress had been made in the fight against cancer. “We have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters without whom we would not be able to fund our research. It was wonderful to meet Josh and Finley and thank them in person for their amazing fundraising.”
