MULTI-award-winning drinks writers and comedy performers Ben McFarland and Tom Sandham will be bringing their brand-new show Heroes of Hooch to Bingley this Spring.

Described by The Scotsman as 'A terrific show. The best value for money in town', the performers call into Bingley Little Theatre for one night only on Friday April 24.

The show is an hilarious intoxicating look at history’s greatest drinkers as our two experts reveal how alcohol has inspired pioneering explorers, politicians and painters in equal measure, from Plato to Picasso to Nelson and Norm from Cheers. And to get everyone into the spirit of things, each audience member will be served five free drinks by the Ben and Tom.

These guys certainly know a thing or two about the drinks industry: Ben McFarland is the triple-crowned winner of British Beer Writer of the Year - the youngest ever recipient. He is also the author of World’s Best Beers: 1000 Unmissable Brews from Portland to Prague and Boutique Beer: 500 of the World’s Finest Craft Brews.

Tom Sandham is former editor of leading industry spirits and cocktail magazine CLASS and lectures on spirits for the Wine & Spirits Education Trust. He launched the Top 50 Bars of the World and House Tonic magazine for the Soho House Group, and is also the author of the award-winning World’s Best Cocktails.

The pair are also drinks experts for Channel 4’s ‘Sunday Brunch’ and both regularly appear on radio and television espousing their “drink less drink better” message and regularly contribute to an array of international publications.

Their previous shows have sold out around the UK and become a consistent feature at the Edinburgh Festival along with enjoying regular residencies in London’s West End theatres.

Tickets for The Thinking Drinkers - Heroes of Hooch on Friday April 24 at Bingley Little Theatre are available online at bingleylittletheatre.co.uk or call the box office on 01274 567983.
