A TOWN is rallying round to ensure the flags are flying at community events.
A huge effort is under way in Silsden to produce new bunting.
The initiative was launched by the town's gala team and the cause has been taken-up by community organisations, including Many Hands in Kirkgate and Silsden Methodist Church.
Bunting-making sessions are being held, with an evening workshop taking place at Many Hands on Wednesday (Feb 26) at 7pm.
The Methodist Church is planning several sessions next month.
Organisers are also urging other groups, schools and businesses – as well as individuals – to get involved.
The aim is to replace plastic bunting with a more-durable, reusable fabric version that can adorn the town at the VE Day commemorations in May and at other events, such as the Grand Party and gala.
Duncan Turner, the gala secretary, said: "Everyone is welcome to help make the bunting.
"Dates, times and venues of workshops will be posted on the Silsden Buzz Facebook page, or people can e-mail silsdengala@gmail.com."
