A NETWORKING event is taking place in Skipton.

Skipton Business Social is a face-to-face social networking event aimed at business owners, entrepreneurs, volunteers, aspiring self-employed people, and full time carers.

A spokesperson said: "We meet every six weeks to socialise, inspire each other, answer each other's questions and provide feedback.

"For our second session we're expecting some more new faces, so we'll be enjoying some informal networking over a drink and food, followed by a five-minute quick-tip session on gaining local publicity for your business, event or story, supported by a structured session so you can put together your own publicity plan.

"Your ticket will include a welcome drink and meat/cheese/vegan platters from the amazing team at Elsworth Kitchen.

"At Skipton Business Social you'll meet like-minded people in an after-work setting.

"We know that a lack of socialising can be a real downside for solo-preneurs and small/medium business owners, who don't get the chance to mingle with colleagues outside of work or chat around the 'water cooler'.

"Maybe you don't have many friends who work for themselves and want to meet other people in a similar situation? Everyone's welcome at Skipton Business Social.

"There's no annual membership fee. There's no forced introductions or referral schemes. There's no dress code! Want to wear your suit? Go ahead! Normally wear jeans or leggings? Come on in. Work in overalls or a uniform? No problem!

"If you've got any business issues or themes you want us to cover, please send us a message.

"We're not a for-profit business, we just want to meet other business owners like ourselves. All we ask for is a per-event ticket charge to cover the venue, drink and any food/speakers/events etc."

The event is being held at Elsworth Kitchen, 18-20 Coach Street, Skipton, on Wednesday March 11, 5.30pm-7.30pm.
