CUSTOMERS at The Devonshire Inn, Skipton, will be able to enjoy a “Meet The Brewer” event as the pub gears up to mark the start of The Tour de Yorkshire cycle race.

A number of beers from Black Sheep Brewery, based in Masham, will feature at the Wetherspoon pub on Friday March 20, as brewery representative David Croft gives a talk and hosts a question and answer session.

The Devonshire Inn in Newmarket Street will be the starting point for one of the stages of the Tour de Yorkshire during the first weekend in May.

The Meet The Brewer event will take place from 11am until 2pm, with another talk and tasting from 4pm until 6pm.

The featured beers will be Riggwelter (5.9per cent ABV)and Pale Ale (4.0 per cent ABV) – permanently on sale at the pub.

There will also be Special Ale (4.4 per cent ABV); Monty Python’s Holy Grail (4.0 per cent ABV); and seasonal ale Brave New World (4.0per cent ABV), which will all be making guest appearances.

Samples of Velo (the name is French for bike), a citrusy, 4.2 per cent ABV ale brewed especially to coincide with the Tour de Yorkshire, will also be available on March 20.

Shift manager Toni Duffy aid: “We are very keen to promote the Tour de Yorkshire in Skipton and believe the meet the meet the brewer event will prove popular.”
