POLICE arrested a man after witnesses claim to have seen a second hen harrier shooting in the Dales.

The incident occurred on Threshfield Moor at approximately 10.45am on Monday, January 27, where two members of the public witnessed an incident in which they believe a male hen harrier was shot.

North Yorkshire Police officers have been conducting enquiries and a man was arrested in connection with this incident, then later released under investigation.

Recently police issued a similar appeal after a witness claimed to have seen a male hen harrier being shot near Keasden.

A man was interviewed on that occasion and police say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
