TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant Vodafone is planning to open a new branch in Skipton town centre.

The company has taken a lease on the former Max Spielmann photo shop in Sheep Street, a grade two listed building, and has submitted a planning application to Craven District Council for its refurbishment and re-fit.

It proposes new internal ‘stud’ walls to form a ground floor stair lobby and a new door between the sales area and rear of the shop. It also plans to replace the back exit door and fit new lighting, electric and ventilation.

The front of the building will also be re-painted in ‘woodash grey’ and will include the Vodafone fascia.

If approved, the shop will open Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5.30pm and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
