KEIGHLEY Cougars are continuing their support of the NHS and key frontline providers and workers today, with the launch of their 2020 charity jersey.

Last week, the club announced they would be donating 5,000 CE certified facemasks, with more in production, to Airedale Hospital, the Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice and other key frontline providers, to aid with the shortage of vital PPE equipment during the coronavirus crisis.

The NHS is particularly close to the club's heart, with women's team members Olivia Chester and Chloe Gill both working at Airedale Hospital.

Team manager Frank Levy is currently working as an NHS volunteer, while several fans and volunteers involved with the club are playing their part too during these trying times.

The dedication of the Cougars family to the cause has no doubt helped to inspire their latest charity effort.

Discussing the new jersey, the club said: "The jersey is designed to show how thankful we, not just as a club but as a nation, are to the National Health Service and key frontline providers for putting their lives at risk to protect us during these unprecedented times.

"The shirts are priced at £35 each, with all profits raised from the shirt sales to be donated to the local NHS trust and other frontline worker groups.

"The players will wear this unique kit for our first home fixture back at Cougar Park, whenever that may be, as we as a club host a special ‘Thank You Day’ for NHS staff and other frontline workers.

"That will be part of a range of measures for the Cougars to say thank you to all of our Cougars Heroes.

"We will release details of the festivities and our plans on rewarding the Cougars Heroes closer to the day, once we know the date of our next home fixture."
