THIS was Skipton high street at noon today.

The country is currently in lockdown and in battle against a global pandemic, so why are there so many vehicles parked on the setts?

Apart from banks opening in the mornings and a bakery and butchers still open off the high street, the only other shop open in this part of the high street is Boots.

Technically, as it is market day, cars should not be parking in the high street, even if they are visiting the only two market stalls in operation.

There appear to be more people walking about too, despite the cold.

The photograph is in stark contrast to the picture of an empty Skipton high street taken on Easter Sunday a little over two weeks ago.
