CRAVEN Lawn Tennis Club at Gargrave is up and running following the slight easing of coronavirus restrictions by the Government.
The club says it will be following all Government and Lawn Tennis Association guidance on social distancing and sanitising including a new online booking system, to make sure only the permitted number of members are playing on both the all weather and grass courts at the same time.
Club secretary, Beth Whitley, said: “As there is currently no competitive tennis as part of the Wharfedale or Bradford Parks leagues, members only online singles tennis ladders are being introduced to enable as much competitive play to take place as is currently possible.
Under the present guidance, only one to one coaching is permitted and so our group adult and junior coaching sessions are unable to run for now, but we are hoping this may be relaxed in the coming weeks.”
She added: “Tennis is one of the few sports which is fully ‘up and running’ currently and is an excellent way for families to exercise safely together in the current situation as family members can play with each other and individuals can play against one other person from another household.”
