SKIPTON Library is taking a new look at the past and present at some of the area’s most cherished landmarks.
The ‘Then and Now ‘project was funded by a £5,000 grant by Libraries Connected Yorkshire and Humber, and aims to develop creative and digital skills, as well as encourage a sense of pride and belonging among communities.
Over the last few months, staff and volunteers at Skipton, and also Scarborough libraries have worked with groups and digital artists to choose the locations. Photographs were taken to compare with old images held in the library’s historical photographic collections.
Exhibitions were postponed due to the coronavirus restrictions, but the art work is being shared on Facebook pages to coincide with May’s Local Community and History month.
