YORKSHIRE Building Society has donated £1,740 to a Craven charity as part of its Coronavirus Response Fund to support smaller charities during the Covid-19 outbreak.

The donation to Home-Start Craven is being used to support a food delivery service for families who have lost income due to the crisis and also those who are in poverty.

The building society’s Charitable Foundation Coronavirus Response Fund was launched to support charities that are helping communities to cope with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and has so far donated £100,000 to 61 charities around the country.

Gordon Rogers, chairman of trustees for the charitable foundation, said: “The impact that coronavirus is having across the country including the charity sector is unparalleled. We are helping charities such as Home-Start Craven that support the ongoing needs of the most vulnerable people in our communities.”

Wendy Barrett, Scheme Manager at Home-Start Craven, said: “We are thankful for the donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation that will help us carry on our work through the coronavirus outbreak.”
