WHILE Airedale Hospital announces another sad death related to coronavirus, a total of 190 patients have recovered from the diseas so far and have been discharged.

A hospital spokesman said some of those who had been in-patients will still be receiving therapy services in the community to support their rehabilitation.

The hospital added that over the last week they have seen an average of 25 patients in their bed base with confirmed coronavirus, which is down from an average of 70 patients being treated in mid-April.

Today Airedale has confirmed its 97th death from a coronavirus-related illness.

A statement from NHS England today said: "A further 174 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 24,913.

"Patients were aged between seven and 102 years old. Six of the 174 patients (aged between 45 and 90) had no known underlying health condition.

"Their families have been informed."

A further two patients who tested positive for the virus have also died at Bradford Royal Infirmary, bringing the total there to 185 and the total to the Bradford district to 284.
