KEIGHLEY College apprentices are helping a company manufacture textile products for use on the frontline in the battle against coronavirus.
Canvasman normally produces items mainly for the leisure industry, such as boat covers and shop canopies.
But during the current crisis, the Baildon-based firm is also turning out products including protective screens and isolation units.
As part of its link-up with Keighley College, Canvasman provides apprenticeships to students on textile-focused courses.
The current cohort includes Joseph Armitage, who said: “Canvasman has responded incredibly well to the recent changes; my training has been accelerated in order for me to work on specific products and make a difference during these times.”
Chris Salisbury, the company’s managing director, said: “The apprentices’ enthusiasm and assistance has been outstanding – they have risen to the challenge.”
