I VISITED the North Yorkshire County Council Recycling Site near Skipton last week and while I was there I discovered a nail stuck into my car tyre.

I should also point out that there was also a brass woodscrew on the ground next to my car.

I am not blaming the council employees as they are doing a very difficult job in an unprecedented situation.

However, can I please ask that all visitors to the recycling sites take care in securely containing any sharp metallic objects and report any spillages immediately to the council staff.

With most new car tyres costing over £100 it could be a very expensive visit to the recycling site.
