A PRIMARY school headteacher has run past all his pupils' homes – covering a total of 34 miles – to raise money for charity.
Tim Whitehead, head at Kildwick Primary, completed the energy-sapping feat in a day.
He tackled the challenge in three legs – Skipton, Cononley, Cowling and Glusburn; Kildwick, Farnhill and Silsden, and Steeton-with-Eastburn, Cross Hills and Sutton.
Pupils displayed specially-made banners and came out of their homes to cheer on Mr Whitehead – at a safe distance.
The original aim was to raise £1,000 for mental health charity Young Minds, but the effort has coined-in over £4,000.
Proceeds will also support mental health work within 132-pupil Kildwick School.
"It was very hot but the response was amazing – I'm overwhelmed with the support shown for such a great cause," said Mr Whitehead.
"The last few months have been very challenging for all children and parents up and down the country. I decided to do this to support and raise their spirits."
