A STEADY stream of vehicles was queueing for Skipton's McDonald's this afternoon after the company announced it was re-opening restaurants for drive-through and delivery service from 11am.

At 2pm a queue of around 30 cars stretched back to the entrance road to the industrial estate.

Those collecting their McDonald's meals and drinks will have seen Perspex screens at the windows and employees wearing PPE.

Employees have their temperatures taken before each shift to confirm they are fit and able to work, a spokesman for the company said.

There is a capped spend of £25 per order at the drive-through and customers are encouraged to pay by contactless methods.

Between June 2 and 4 over 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants will be open in the UK and Ireland, either for the drive-through or delivery.
