THE paper recycling scheme at Settle Swimming Pool will not be re-opening this summer, organisers have decided.
With continuing concerns about the spread of coronavirus they have concluded it would not be possible to restart the collection of waste paper and cardboard in a way that is safe both for volunteers and those delivering materials. The situation will be reviewed again at the start of September.
In the meantime new volunteers are being sought to help when it is safe to resume. Many of the existing volunteers are in vulnerable groups and whilst many are willing to start work again as soon as it is safe to do so more volunteers are needed. Anyone interested in helping should email: ianandmargaretgray@hotmail.com or ring: 01729 822465.
