A MAN had his bicycle stolen after being confronted at knifepoint, police say.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was standing in St Peter's Road, Bournemouth town centre, holding a bicycle when he was reportedly threatened by another man with a knife.

After he dropped the bike, the robber cycled off on it towards Bath Road.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

Detective Constable Fran Howard, of Bournemouth CID, said: "Enquiries are underway into this incident and I am appealing to any witnesses, or anyone who may have information to assist my investigation, to please get in touch.”

The drama unfolded around 8.30pm on Friday, June 26.

A 43-year-old Bournemouth man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
