SKIPTON firm Lambert and Dyson Ltd won a gold award on what would have been the first day of the Royal Highland Show, in Edinburgh.

The family firm which specialises in power washing machinery and is based in Sandylands won the award for innovation for its Landy PTO driven hot water pressure washer which earned it silver at the show three years ago, the highest available award at its first entry. Judging the entries virtually, judges recognised the impact of the innovation on the marketplace.

Director Matthew Lambert said: “Our hot water PTO driven pressure washer is unique in the agricultural cleaning scene, having been developed by ourselves in Skipton to fill a gap in the market for a completely self contained high powered, high temperature pressure washer unit. The machine is solely powered by the tractor it is mounted to, only needing a water bowser to draw from. Cleaning of agricultural buildings and machinery has never been so easy.”
