A SKIPTON based business that supplies schools and colleges across the country with staff is celebrating after picking up not one but three accolades from Great Places to Work.

For the second year running, Justteachers, based in High Corn Mill, made both the organisation’s ‘best places to work’ and its ‘best workplaces for women’ lists.

The company also received an ‘excellence in wellbeing’ award from Great Place to Work earlier in the year.

Justteachers, which was established in 2004 and currently has 61 employees, was placed 45th in the UK’s best places to work medium sized business category of up to 250 employees, and an impressive tenth in the best workplace for women list, jumping up ten places from last year’s ranking of 20.

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place to Work UK, said: “ The issues affecting women in the workplace, particularly parity of pay and advancement opportunities, continue to be important topics. We are proud that, thanks to this ranking and the insights afforded by our successful organisations, we are able to add to the conversation and help raise awareness of the importance of fairness around pay, recognition, training and development opportunities and work-life balance.”

Caroline Cafferty, managing director at justteachers, said: “We are extremely proud of the ranking. It reflects all the team’s efforts and success, which is built from the people, both women and men, who contribute towards making justteachers a family. We are delighted that our focus on making justteachers a great place to work for all has once again been recognised.”

All members of the Justteachers senior management team are women. The company says it recognises that women represent a ‘valuable talent pool in an increasingly talent–constrained environment’ and that the awards show that its employees are inspired to join, stay and grow within the business.

Ms Cafferty, promoted to managing director earlier this year, has been with the company for about 16 years and started with the company as a recruitment consultant.
