STAFF at home-shopping giant Damart staged a special challenge to round-off several months of fundraising for the NHS.

Nearly 40 employees at the company – whose warehousing facility is in Steeton – took part in the initiative, which centred around activities related to 2.6.

They raised almost £500 for the firm’s chosen charities – Breast Cancer Now, Heart Research UK and The Silver Line.

Damart’s online merchandise manager, Claire Brown, said: “Throughout the pandemic we have been supporting the NHS with a special rainbow fashion collection – which raised £10,000 for NHS Charities Together – and donations of thermals to NHS teams, as well as gift boxes for key workers who have been doing such an amazing job.

“However, we wanted to make sure our own three charities also benefited from our colleagues’ generosity.

“From 26 star jumps to building a tower with 26 objects, it was all great fun for good causes.”
