NEWLY re-opened salon Westrow, in Skipton’s Newmarket Street, is boosting clients’ self-esteem with a series of special promotions so they can take advantage of ‘affordable luxury’.

Manager and artistic director Sebastian McKenzie said he and his staff were excited to be able to provide a personalised service to clients who had been forced to forgo their regular appointments during lockdown. He assures everyone that all measures have been put in place to ensure maximum safety.

“We are a large salon, the largest in Skipton, and can easily accommodate four clients at a time while still ensuring social distancing.

“Above all, we want people to enjoy the experience. We are putting on a lot of special offers each week, several days a week.

“We’re not out to make a fast buck by inflating prices to cover things like PPE which some establishments have been doing. We’re instead giving discounts and themed days for customers to enjoy so they go out feeling pampered and good about themselves,”

Mr McKenzie said there are discounts and offers - some up to 50 per cent off - for clients to take advantage of including ‘Treat Yourself Tuesday’, ‘Westrow Wednesday’, ‘Love your Hair, Thursday’ and ‘Fizz Friday’ when there is bottomless Prosecco on offer on top of the special offer.

He said that usually staff are happy to make cups of tea and coffee for clients but the current regulations prevent that. Instead they will pop to the coffee shops and pick up a drink for you to enjoy as you are being pampered.

He said their purpose was to make their clients’ visits enjoyable, from the moment they arrive, to the moment they leave so they feel appreciated and look forward to returning.

Currently only three staff are working, Seb, along with stylists Felicia Wright and Erin Allsopp, to allow space for customers.

The salon first opened in July 2017 and is the largest of all the company’s hair, beauty and lifestyle salons.

Last year staff enjoyed a re-launch with Skipton mayor Councillor Peter Madeley.
