A WOMAN was left trapped in another vehicle after a crash on the A65 between Addingham and Ilkley this afternoon caused a car to flip onto its roof.

Police and the fire service were called to the collision at around 1.04pm and the air ambulance attended.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision and one car was flipped on its roof.

A male driver has been injured and wasto hospital and a woman was trapped in another car.

A driver, who was diverted away from the scene at around 1.40pm, saw the Air Ambulance come in to land.

They said it looked as if a car had been totally crushed, with another car also at the scene.

Police blocked the road in both directions while four fire engines, an ambulance and a police car attended.

Travellers should check the route is open before heading in that direction. The closure had caused heavy traffic to build up and police inquiries are ongoing.
