CHAMPION slimmers Julie and Martin Carrick from Keasden have made the most of the last few months of the coronavirus lockdown by writing a follow up to their diet and healthy living book ‘Losing It’.

Julie, 60, and Martin, 62, took a grip on a lifetime of being overweight in March, 2018, changed what they ate and ended up losing a combined weight of 12 stones before the end of the year.

Their book, ‘Losing It: it’s not what you eat, but what you don’t eat’ told of their bumpy journey back to health, and included a number of the recipes they had devised which had helped them shed the stones, and most importantly, to keep it off.

A promotional tour was cut short because of the coronavirus lockdown, but not to be disheartened, the couple set about writing a follow up, featuring more of their own recipes, and tips for a healthy lifestyle.

Although it has not yet got a title, the book will also cover issues such as stress and fasting, and it is hoped it will come out in the autumn, in time for Government guidelines on losing weight.

“Covid-19 depending, we also hope to present talks and workshops to people who are interested in making changes to their lives in order that they can pass on their experiences, inspiration and encouragement to others,” say Julie and Martin.

‘Losing It’, priced £12.99, is available on Amazon, or for £12 from the writers, by email: julieandmartinlosingit@gmail.com . For updates, follow Julie and Martin on social media.
