ERMYSTED'S students are celebrating their achievements after receiving their results, in what proved to be a very different results day, says the Skipton school.

The students received their calculated results by email before coming into school or being contacted by staff.

But, despite the challenging circumstances, a quarter achieved at least three A grades or above.

Headteacher, Michael Evans, spoke of his pride at how the students had conducted themselves during the unprecedented period and paid tribute to their hard work and talent.

“The boys have worked very hard over the past two years and deserve their success. They have been a wonderful year group and we will miss them very much.”

The school says the large majority of its students have secured a place at university or will now commence training or enter the workplace. Others plan to take a gap year and apply in 2021.

Deputy Headteacher, Pippa Davies, said that from conversations held with students on the day: "It was reassuring to find that so many were happy with their results after what must have been a period of great uncertainty for them. We wish them all the best in the future.”
