ENTREPRENEUR and musician Peter Barton is ensuring that music and comedy fans will continue to have the opportunity to enjoy safe, top class entertainment during the pandemic.

His venue, Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, has just announced rescheduled dates for the venue in 2021 as well as remaining dates for this year, which include ‘Lucky Stars’ hit-maker Dean Friedman, Punk legends Angelic Upstarts, Judie Tzuke , Australia’s Carus Thompson, Kiki Dee and Carmello Luggeri and Status Quo’s John ‘Rhino’ Edwards.

In addition, January’s show with the Stax/Otis Redding/Blues Brothers legend Steve Cropper sold out within two days.

The Rainhall Road venue in Barnoldswick also continues to host a whole array of rising artists, too – across all genres; Folk, Acoustic, Country, Alternative and more.

“I am determined that the people of our corner of Lancashire and beyond still have the chance to experience live entertainment through these unprecedented times”, said Blackburn-born Peter. “It is so important for everyone’s well-being that they can relax in a safe environment and enjoy some fabulous music”.

Several of the just-announced shows are to benefit Concerts For The Kids a charity set up in 2017 by Peter and his wife Julie to benefit Alder Hey Children’s’ Hospital where Peter and Julie’s grandson received life-saving treatment.

International artists, including Jay and Merrill of The Osmonds, Big Country, From The Jam, and comedian Phil Cool have all given their services free in the past.

Now, artists such as the Lancashire Blues, Boogie and Soul band, The Stumble, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Punk icons The Skids, Dr. Feelgood, Prog-Blues masters The Groundhogs, Stax/Blues Brothers icon Steve Cropper, Animals And Friends and Nine Below Zero will also be performing at the venue to benefit the charity.

This side of 2021, however, BMAC is also relaunching The LaughingGas Comedy Club with a performance from Tom Wrigglesworth. Patron of the Comedy Club is legendary Lancashire funny man, Phil Cool.

Peter Barton has been the singer and bassist with Animals And Friends for more than two decades.
