A 26 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a knife, affray and two counts of criminal damage following an incident in Craven.
In happened on Goodenber Road in Bentham at around 8.20pm Thursday, September10.
Officers were immediately dispatched to the area after North Yorkshire Police received a number of 999 calls to report a man in the area armed with a knife.
A man was arrested at the scene and was held in police custody for questioning.
Craven’s Neighbour Policing Inspector Lorraine Crossman-Smith said:
“I understand that this incident has caused concern within the community, but I would like to offer some reassurance that we are investigating thoroughly.
“There will remain an increased police presence in the area over the weekend with officers conducting house-to-house enquiries and reassurance patrols. If you see any officers and have any questions, please talk to them.”
