POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a hit and run incident at the weekend which left a cyclist with a serious arm injury.

North Yorkshire Police said the incident occurred on Bentham Road, near Ingleton, at 10.25am on Sunday, September 20 and involved a cyclist and a red BMW.

A police spokesman said: "The cyclist suffered a serious arm injury was taken to Lancaster Royal Infirmary for treatment before being released with a cast.

"Emergency services worked to examine the scene and enquiries are ongoing to identify the Red BMW involved which did not stop at the scene.

"We are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing the pedal cyclist or vehicle prior to the collision, to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.

"In particular, we are appealing for information about the Red BMW and anyone who may have information as to the identity of the driver or dashcam footage from Bentham Road between 10am and 10.25am.
