VODAFONE has opened a store in Skipton this morning with staff and town dignitaries braving the torrential rain for the ceremony.

The franchise run by Mark Fitzpatrick and managed by Matthew Landall, had the ribbon cut to announce its opening by Skipton mayor Cllr Peter Madeley.

Mr Fitzpatrick, who runs Vodafone stores in Burnley and Blackburn, said: "The company has been looking for a premises in Skipton for quite a while now. In fact we used to get quite a few people from Skipton coming over to the Burnley store so it made sense to provide a store in the town.

"We were looking at opening in February but Covid-19 put thing son hold.

"Today we have opened and I want to thank the mayor for coming this morning.

"In the Current climate it is great to see both Vodafone and MKF Communications LTD looking to invest in the town. We are looking forward to a bright future in Skipton."

The premises was the former Max Spielmann photograph processing and printing business, which has moved into the Timpson's store.
