A FREAK storm left parts of Wharfedale and Aireborough looking unseasonably white.
The Leeds and Bradford areas both experienced hail, heavy rain, thunder, lightning and even some snow on the afternoon and evening of Thursday, September 24.
The extreme weather left some places looking, briefly, like winter scenes and drivers facing treacherous road conditions.
Pool-in-Wharfedale, Otley and Guiseley were among the local communities where that were covered in hail or snow for a time.
Otley resident Dan Lebath said: "Coming home from Thirsk we experienced snow, yes snow, in Pool and Otley.
"It was very localised as there was none in Harrogate."
Flash floods were also reported in Baildon and Shipley where residents reported heavy hail storms which left a blanket of white.
Dramatic thunder and lightning, meanwhile, was experienced by residents in Ilkley and Eccleshill.
The Met Office said the storms experienced by many on the day had been caused by a low pressure system over much of the UK which had followed on from some warm days which had heated the land.
In Scotland temperatures fell to -5C overnight.
