STEETON have been busy in the transfer market over the last week or so, confirming the signings of three new central midfielders.
One who brings them plenty of North West Counties League experience is James Wolfenden.
He used to play for Nelson and Prestwich Heys, both of whom are in the NWCFL First Division North like Steeton.
Although the club only confirmed the signing last Thursday, he actually played for them the previous weekend in their FA Vase defeat on penalties to Jarrow, where he netted a late screamer to drag his new side back into the contest.
They have also signed young midfielder Mohammed Farhan Subhani.
He comes in from League One club Rochdale, and made his debut for Steeton in their pre-season friendly with Salts.
The Chevrons have also brought in central midfielder Luke Hammond, who was previously part of the Liversedge set up.
Steeton have also made a double swoop from Eccleshill United, in goalkeeper Jordan Moorhouse and defender McKenzie Borek.
Their other signings are winger Jake Townsend from Nelson, who scored in Steeton’s 2-1 friendly defeat at Barnoldswick Town last Tuesday, and striker Ben Wignall, who comes in from Silsden.
Steeton were hoping for a friendly last weekend, but those plans did not come to fruition.
It means the Barnoldswick clash was their last one before their season opener at phoenix club Bury AFC this Saturday.
