A LOCAL football club has had to postpone its two opening league fixtures after a couple of its players tested positive for Coronavirus.
Last Wednesday, Barnoldswick Town, who play in the North West Counties League Premier Division, announced they will not be able to train or contest any matches until at least September 30.
With that date now passed, it is understood Town have cancelled this week's training and will push back their season start date to October 10.
The club have acted on this measure in the interests of players, staff and supporters safety.
The Barlicks were suppose to play Ashton Athletic on Saturday and travel to Burscough on the following Tuesday.
Endrit Shehu's team will now kickstart their campaign by hosting Squires Gate.
Barnoldswick were last in action against Steeton in a friendly on September 22.
They were forced to cancel their final pre-season game with Farsley Celtic.
