AN OTLEY church’s flowerpot-inspired garden has been drawing admiring glances from passersby.
The raised bed plot, filled with flowers, animal models and Bill and Belinda - two ‘flowerpot people’- has been created by the front door of The Bridge Church.
It is the handiwork of Chris Beckwith and his grandson, Ben, while another church member has created a wooden model silhouette of the church itself for the feature.
The Bridge Church’s publicity officer, Colin Whitaker, said: “It has created a lot of interest for passersby who enjoy using the church garden for a time of reflection, or to simply rest a while and watch life pass by on Bridge Street.”
The church, meanwhile, has been sent lots of messages of appreciation on social media for its efforts to maintain a presence in the community during the coronavirus pandemic.
Th church is currently open for a covid-secure, half hour service each Sunday at 10.30am. Places are limited and allocated on a first come basis.
