KEIGHLEY Cougars' Squadbuilder Fund is taking things up a notch this winter, with the Grand Christmas Raffle set to go a long way towards helping the club through these difficult times, with no matchday revenue since March.

David Procter, who runs the The Squadbuilder Fund alongside his wife Margaret, explained: "It helps the Cougars by giving supporters a way to donate regularly (£11 a month) to fund the playing strength of the club.

"The cash is used solely for that purpose, other than £1 of the donations, which goes to the local hospice at Manorlands.

"Obviously rugby league has suffered as a result of the pandemic, just as all sports have, and the Squadbuilder Fund has tried to maintain its help over this very difficult period.

"Why not join up, and make your own contribution to the town's own rugby league club, helping to make sure it is still there when we come out of the other side of this dreadful situation.

"Also, you can have some fun while helping the fund - by buying some tickets for our Grand Christmas Raffle.

"There is a fantastic hamper of goodies which will be won just before Christmas, so the lucky person can have a bumper holiday.

"Tickets are £1 each or three for £5 and are available through the Cougars website, or just ring Margaret on 07980 893003.

"Rugby league will be back, and we are all striving to help our club to be part of it when it returns, stronger, and better than ever.

"Look at the fantastic signings which our directors and coach have delivered - exciting stuff, so do your bit to support our town's team."
