POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a crash which left a woman seriously injured.

Officers were called to Dibb Lane, Yeadon, at 3.10am on Sunday morning to reports of a single vehicle collision.

It is believed the vehicle was driven down Kirk Lane in Yeadon, then onto New Road, then onto Dibb Lane where it hit a lamppost.

The passenger in the BMW, a 26 year old woman, was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The driver, a 25 year old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and has been released under investigation.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are asking anyone who saw the BMW prior to the collision to come forward.
