A FIFTIETH reunion event for Gargrave Cricket Club's 1st Eleven 1970 team has had to be put on hold, thanks to Covid, but will be held some time in the future.

In 1970 Gargrave Cricket Club 1st Eleven played in Section A of The Airedale and Wharfedale Cricket League. 1970 was a very successful season for the team and throughout the season they only lost two matches; one in the League and The Wadilove Cup Semi-final.

Due to the run of this form it was no surprise that Gargrave were successful in winning the Airedale and Wharfedale Cricket League Section A.

The photograph sent in by David Lawson is of the team taken in 1970.

Mr Lawson said: "The players of the team now reside in far flung areas of the UK and it was proposed to hold a reunion dinner this year but due to the present condition this had to be cancelled. It is hoped to hold this event at a later date when things return to something near normal."
