A CLASSIC VW Campervan will pump out festive music to shoppers in Skipton during the run-up to Christmas.

Andrew Mear, owner of High Corn Mill, says he wanted to help out after hearing there was to be no festive music in the High Street as normal this year,.

The campervan, which has been specially painted up with Skipton scenes, will bring Christmas cheer and music to the area around High Corn Mill on market days and late night shopping days from Thursday, December 3.

He said:“This year has been incredibly tough for so many – particularly in the retail and hospitality sectors, which is why I wanted to help as much as I could. As well as playing music around the mill, we’ll also be offering visitors to the shops there a festive tipple being supplied courtesy of the Wright Wine Company.

“When I bought the run-down camper, with a view to transforming it back in the summer, this is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind. I really hope it brings smiles to shoppers in Skipton during the festive period!”

From Friday, December 4, visitors to Skipton’s market will be able to support Parkinson’s UK, as the VW camper will be selling a range of Christmas gifts, including festive slippers and snow globes ranging from £1 to £10 with all proceeds going to the charity.
