THE former Dorothy Perkins and Burtons store in Skipton which closed last year is reopening as a Regatta store.

Regatta Great Outdoors said it is taking over the Hawkshead store, in Craven Court, and moving to the high street premises where the company will create a new Regatta-style shop.

Jo Black, retail director for Regatta Great Outdoors, said: “This really is an exciting time for the Regatta brand to be opening in Skipton High Street. Skipton is a fabulous market place and our customers can expect to receive great service, great brands and see an incredible range suitable for all the family as we look to inspire more and more people to fall in love with the great outdoors.”

The five staff who worked at the Hawkshead store are expected to move to the new premises

Shopfitters began work transforming the inside of the property this week. The company said the shop will open as soon as they are allowed and are following government guidelines closely.

Regatta was founded in 1981 and has over 48 retail stores and retail partners across the UK.
