AMBLER haberdashers in Skipton High Street was the go-to place in town for needlework items.
It sat in part of where the now empty House of Fraser store is.
Prior to that it was Rackhams which took over from Brown, Muff and Co.
It was back in 1961 the Herald reported that Brown, Muffs had taken over the Ambler premises and was reopening ‘full of vigour’.
Today it is empty again as new owners Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group await the end of the Covid pandemic to decide the building’s future.
