KEIGHLEY Cougars are getting by with a little help from their friends, with Super League outfit Leeds Rhinos providing the goods on this occasion.
Work has been going on on the pitch, stands and floodlights at Cougar Park since the initial lockdown last March, but there are still some finishing touches to be made ahead of the new season.
Leeds had some pitch perimeter padding knocking about, and with Cougars in need of some, the Rhinos' head groundsman, Ryan Golding, offered to donate it to the League 1 side.
It was brought down to the ground yesterday morning.
Keighley are due to play their first competitive game of the season in the Challenge Cup at the end of March, but may get the chance to play some friendlies at Cougar Park beforehand.
That is by no means a certainty though, with League 1 sides as yet unable to return to training as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.
